Résumé
Etre authentiquement homme et agir de façon digne de l’homme est un idéal fondamental dans l’anthropologie africaine. L’excellence de l’homme (bwimuntu) se saisit à travers l’être, l’agir et les rapports harmonieux avec soi-même, les autres et le cosmos, tous tournés vers une transcendance commune. Le bwimuntu est un atout majeur pour fonder des sociétés humaines plus justes, hospitalières, croyantes et fraternelles où il fait bon vivre ensemble.

Summary
To be authentically human and to act in a manner worthy of man is a fundamental ideal in African anthropology. The excellence of man (bwimuntu) is grasped through being, acting and harmonious relationships with oneself, others and the cosmos, all turned towards a common transcendence. Bwimuntu is a major asset for founding more just, hospitable, believing and fraternal human societies where it is good to live together.
